Weekend 2
Memorial Day weekend  fellow Falcon Club Member Jeff Giddens came over to help drop the engine in. We got started around 9:00 AM on Saturday, and stayed on it all day. Of course, running back and forth to the hardware store for this bolt and that bolt, mostly grade eight.  My Step Son Michael  was a very big help! Thanks Mike!  Very exhausting day, mentally and physically. But, very well worth it!
The engine is in straight. My dumb ass didn't have the bug catcher on straight when Mel took the picture! hehe.
Jeff did a hell of a job on the transmission crossmember! The chassis guys had welded it in solid, not removable! I have no idea why, it was just overlooked in all of my excitement. Anyway, I cut it out and Jeff welded on 2 ears and installed to bolts (Grade 8 Again) on each side. It came out very nice. He did it with the truck 2 and a 1/2' off the ground, and flat on his back! I'm sure glad he didn't get a HOT one down his shirt or in his ear! That would have sucked! Under the conditions he really made it happen! Thanks alot Jeff!
I really don't care much for the height of the frontend. I think this is what the Granada Spindles has done to me! It still has yet to have oil, water, and bolt on accessories added, but I don't think that will bring it down enough. The front springs have not been driven on, so, I'm  HOPING it might settle some! I'll drive it awhile and see what happens. If it doesn't settle I'll be chopping the springs an inch or two.
You really can't see it in the picture but, the after market hood has more of an arch to it than the front fenders. From what everyone tells me none of the aftermarket fiberglass is worth a shit anyways, but think mine looks pretty damn good. I know where all the flaws are, and I'm sure my Falcon Club members will be pointing out every single one! hehe. Seriously, my Falcon Club Members have been very supportive, helpful, and reassuring. They really helped me keep my head up when things got tough through the " Body Shop of Horrors"!
My cool blue Halogen headlights look like some stick on drag racing headlights in this picture, don't they?  Oh, yes I'll be putting relays in! hehe
My neighbors have even been a big help! In the background you can see  my neighbor,Lee Warner, he comes over now and again to help me do some 4 man stuff like push my truck back in the garage! hehe.
Or loan me some tool I don't have. Neighbor Steve Yelton, came down and helped me line up and install my hood. Neighbor Tom Fishburn is letting us store  Mel's '64 Ranchero (Rose) in his garage, while Nicole is being re-assembled. Tom, your a life saver! (not the candy) hehe.  Love thy neighbor, for they too Love the Guy Stuff! Hehe.
